Overview

The Security Officer ensures the safety of employees, patients, and visitors while securing clinic buildings and grounds. The position is a critical part of ensuring the public has a positive experience, serving as frontline staff greeting and directing visitors. In this position exemplary customer service is essential while proactively interacting with customers daily, performing crowd control, patrolling the interior and exterior of the facility, enforcing clinic policies, and responding to emergency situations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in security, law enforcement, fire, military, safety, EMS, or similar occupation preferred.
  • Must demonstrate complete knowledge and application of security, safety, or law enforcement techniques and procedures.
  • Must either possess Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Certification or successfully complete the MOAB certification course within three months of employment.
  • Current/valid Georgia’s driver’s unrestricted license.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring service excellence for all internal and external customers and employees.
  • Patrols assigned location, checking, and reporting irregularities of security and safety issues, policy compliance, parking concerns, property, and other important matters.
  • Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the clinic pertaining to employees, visitors, patients, and premises.
  • Uses de-escalation techniques to diffuse and control situations involving anger, confusion, and threatening conditions.
  • Responds and protects the scene of an incident in the event of accidents and emergencies.
  • Assists Risk Management Officer by reporting all incidents through incident reports by end of shift that involve the protection and safety of personnel, patients, visitors, and property.
  • As needed responsible for the safe, expeditious delivery of supplies, equipment, etc. to and from MedCura clinics.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
