The psychiatrist position diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors medication side effects and participates in the treatment process.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.
Board Certified Psychiatrist.
Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State of Georgia
Responsibilities
Completes Psychiatric evaluation for child and adult patients.
Performs clinical screening and referral of all conditions in need of consultation from medical, nonpsychiatric specialties.
Reviews and follows up on treatments ordered by other physicians.
Reviews, approves and signs all encounters/progress notes for patients.
Reviews all nonpsychiatric medical orders and prescriptions.
Performs crisis intervention for patients, during nonoffice hours as assigned, making daily reports to the Medical Director and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
Consults and advises the provider staff and Medical Director and/or Director of Behavioral Health.
