Overview

The primary role of the EMR Project Manager is to implement and support clinical technology applications for MedCura Health. Advocate for users’ needs and coordinate support requests within Information Systems & Technology (IS&T). Act as a liaison between IS&T and the clinical end users, patient care departments, vendors, and other technical experts. Support the efforts which ensure safe patient care and services by developing and delivering clinically and technically sound solutions.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science Business, or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years similar experience in a healthcare or business environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the business content or clinical content of systems deemed a part of MedCura’s core Health Information System (HIS).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead projects from inception to completion with management supervision.
  • Experience with Template Editor and Documents Builder.
  • Experience using Crystal Reports or other report writing tools desirable.
  • Must be competent in Microsoft software applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, train, and continuing education needs for all staff relative to the use of electronic medical records system and other associated applications. This includes training end users on best practices, system usage, and creating documentation.
  • Work closely with the clinical personnel to examine workflow, reporting requirements, or unique
  • processes that could adversely affect patient flow.
  • Maintain system security settings to include setting up new users and terminating users.
  • Create and maintain all practice and/or department reports to include but not limited to billing, scheduling, quality improvement, Uniform Data Systems (UDS), referral loop closure, encounter/productivity reports, etc.
  • Actively participate in routine meetings with department heads and/or super-users to identify, document and prioritize their needs.
  • Perform “rounds” with departments to maintain a casual interface with the individuals and to focus on relationship building with the department.
  • Act as contact for support during system downtime.
  • Provide applications software and file maintenance support for break-fixes/optimizations/special updates/upgrades/implementations.
  • Provide assessment, coordination, documentation, release note review, testing, and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests.
  • Maintain a strong and positive relationship with all application vendors.
  • Work with end users to complete project request forms as needed.
  • Provides project direction and management to a team of resources to accomplish common goals defined by the project scope and objectives.
