Overview

The Computer Support Specialist is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The Computer Support Specialist will provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. This individual will work closely with the Director of IT and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field or two (2) years of professional work experience in an Information Systems environment and one (1) year healthcare financial and clinical systems experience.
  • Professional with great communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a key role in a busy healthcare IT services area where strategic planning skills will be valued.
  • Work with the Director of IT to coordinate the design, development, build, testing, implementation, training, upgrades, support, and overall system management of all center physician applications and associated interfaces.
  • Maintain the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all PC’s, operating systems, hardware, software, and office automation equipment.

  • Work with the Director of IT to implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.

  • Administer MedCura’s integration strategy with external entities and organizations, including participation in a Health Information Exchange or similar activities.
  • Work with system vendors to optimize system efficiencies and resolve
  • Work with the Accounting department to maintain accurate and up to date inventory records of all microcomputer equipment with the center and other sites. Ensure all equipment is properly tagged and labeled. Ensure all software is properly licensed.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communication with the organization’s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
