Overview

The School‑Based Health Clinic Safety & Operations role provides a visible presence within MedCura Health’s school‑based clinics and helps maintain an orderly and safety‑focused environment for students, staff, and visitors. The position contributes to daily clinic flow by monitoring designated areas, guiding student movement, addressing low‑level behavioral concerns using non‑clinical approaches, and ensuring that established safety procedures are followed. The role works closely with school personnel, clinic leadership, and the Operations team to maintain consistent coordination across school‑based settings.

 

When school is not in session, or when on‑site clinic coverage is not required, the position contributes to operational and facilities tasks across MedCura Health locations, including routine facility checks, basic maintenance tasks, logistics coordination, and assigned projects. This structure ensures steady operational coverage while maintaining a strong safety presence during the school year.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet county school‑district background requirements for access to school facilities.
  • Experience in safety, security, school settings, youth‑focused environments, healthcare operations, or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and clinic personnel.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during disruptive or high‑stress situations.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices, situational awareness, and non‑clinical verbal de‑escalation techniques; formal training (CPI, Handle With Care, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality requirements including HIPAA and FERPA, as applicable.
  • Ability to walk, stand, escort students, and perform light physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Experience with facilities, logistics, or operational tasks such as room setup, basic repairs, equipment movement, or supply delivery.
  • Strong reliability and professionalism when working independently or within a team.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation for assignments across MedCura Health locations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible safety presence within school‑based clinic areas to promote an orderly and secure environment.
  • Escort students to and from the clinic in coordination with school personnel.
  • Monitor clinic entrances and surrounding areas for safety concerns or unauthorized access.
  • Patrol assigned locations and report irregularities related to safety, policy adherence, parking, or property conditions.
  • Address low‑level behavioral situations using approved non‑clinical de‑escalation techniques.
  • Maintain order and uphold clinic regulations for employees, visitors, students, and premises.
  • Respond to on‑site incidents and secure the area during accidents, emergencies, or safety concerns.
  • Communicate safety issues promptly to clinic leadership, school administration, the safety and risk officer, and Operations.
  • Document safety observations and submit required reports by the end of each shift.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct routine facility checks and perform basic room setup, breakdown, and operational tasks when school is not in session.
  • Coordinate logistics such as equipment movement, supply delivery, and basic inventory tracking across MedCura Health locations.
  • Report facility or safety concerns to the appropriate leadership team.
  • Deliver supplies and materials safely and on time between MedCura Health clinics.
  • Participate in required safety and compliance training.
  • Demonstrate accountability in interactions with internal and external individuals.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks.
